Getting even

Last night while I should have been drinking my milk, I got even with Mommy and Daddy. They decided that I was too old to have bottles now. Grrr! I have been protesting by not drinking my milk the last couple of days. However last night I found a new way to get back at them - DANCE!! We were watching So You Think You Can Dance? - yes, we watch the crappy TV just like the rest of America. I decided it looked like fun and started practicing my ballerina moves. Check out my toe point!

No.. I'm not winding up to kick a soccer ball... I'm dancing!!

Daddy was horrified and thought it was cute at the same time. Geez, he can't make up his mind.

A little of 'dis' and 'dat'

We haven't been up to much recently. My hair is getting long - Daddy keeps threatening to buzz cut my hair. Mostly we've just been goofing around inside and outside.

We're currently in that brief wonderful time between when it gets warm and when the bugs take over. Though I got my first bug bite last week. Good thing the bugs still like Mama best.

Auntie Petra also came to visit over Memorial Day weekend. It was fun hanging out with her. I can't wait to see you again!!

All alone for now...

I woke up this morning and looked around for grandma and grandpa. They didn't show up. I guess another set of grandparents are gone again. Though in honor of G'pa, I drew a nice set of circles this morning before I went to daycare. Maybe I'll actually find G'ma's camera so we can post pictures of my horror on the carousel at Glen Echo Park - I did like the slides though. I can even say "slide". I'm picking up a couple of new words a week now! We do have some pictures of the Mother's Day trip to the zoo. I'm still working on saying monkey. :-)

For now its just me, Mommy and Daddy... it will only last a little while. Auntie Petra is going to come visit next week. Yeah! What a busy spring!!

NYC and more grandparents

This weekend we took our first roadtrip - up to NYC to Auntie Anna's babyshower. Yep, more babies! I was an amazingly good girl in the car - it was mostly because Mommy and Daddy had a new snack that I LOVE! Auntie Anna looks great. I hung out with Uncle Masaya for a couple of hours. He was way more exciting (or at least the roof deck and the iPhone were more exciting) than Mommy & Daddy. Auntie Anna and Uncle Masaya will be great parents, though I think their furniture is too nice to have a baby running around.

Also I got to see Auntie Petra who gave me a great ABC present. I'm trying to use it all the time to drive Mommy and Daddy mad - just like you said - but it doesn't seem to be working. Apparently I should have gone home with you!

It took me a day or so to recover from the NYC trip, just in time for Grandma Aileen and Grandpa Ken to come visit. Today we're going to the carosel at Glen Echo Park... hopefully it doesn't keep raining!

Early Summer

Its been crazy hot here! Today was in the upper 80s. Yesterday hit over 90! We've been spending a lot of time outside. I've got the word 'go' down. I'm also good at bringing my shoes and socks to mommy and daddy so we can go outside. My new favorite thing to do is water the garden. Grandma Ai got me a watering can and other gardening tools. I haven't really tried anything but the watering can... but man do I love that can...

When I'm not watering to make mud, I like to pick flowers and put them in my hair.

So pretty!

I've also discovered the fun of bubbles. I even blew a few bubbles MYSELF!!

Babysitting

Today was the first day my parents left me with a babysitter... though I don't see how it was any different than them leaving me with other people named "Grandma" or "Grandpa". Auntie Anna's sister Katie came over and we had lots of fun playing outside and reading books. I even went down for my nap without screaming! Babysitters aren't so scary. Mommy said that next time maybe I can go play at the zoo with Katie. We'll see if she keeps her promise...

When the 80s attack!

When did parents decide that they should subject their children to their fashion mistakes?

The best part is the shoulder! Or is it the lace on the bottom of the leggings? There's so many things to choose from!!

Visitors

Grandma Lily came to visit right before Easter. We had hung out together all week and went to the zoo too. But mommy didn't download grandma's pictures... so this is a boring post. No worries though. We'll see Grandma again soon at Auntie Ea's wedding!

The weekend before Easter, Mommy's friend from college and her family came to visit from California... its been a busy Spring! I got to have my first repeat 'play date'. Sad huh? Kinda like having lots of first dates but no second ones. I guess it helps to have play dates with people in the same state, better yet, same zipcode. I met Alexandra last summer when Mommy and I went to Los Angeles.

We had a lot of fun playing together.... though Alex pushed me around a bit.

We went to the playground at the end of the street and I realized how much fun slides can be!! Its a good thing I've got my own now. :-)

Apparently, Alex's mom did a better job taking pictures cuz there's tons of cute ones on Alex's webpage. The link is on the right under 'More Babies' Alexandra Lindsay Shinn.

Hopefully, we'll have a THIRD play date some time!

Still coming...

Two more new babies have entered the world. Wow, April is going to be crazy with so many birthday parties!

Sasha and Robert just had their baby girl Olivia on Wednesday April 8th.

Tamiko and Kevin just had their baby boy Kyle on Tuesday April 14th.

Everyone is healthy and happy. Congrats!!
That brings to total for Mommy's friends in March-April to 3 boys (Jonathan, Wyatt and Kyle) and 3 girls (Elise, Ava and Olivia)! I hope I didn't forget anyone! Auntie Bridge... you're up next! (Sorry I hung up on you yesterday... I hope the traffic wasn't too bad!)

Easter

Today was Easter... I think Mommy and Daddy finally agreed that Easter was the day that some guy named Jesus came back from the dead. That seems strange to me. What it really meant was my first easter egg hunt. I found 4 eggs before I got distracted by the neighbor's doggies.

So I took a break. It worked out well. Mommy and Daddy were too cheap to get me anything but the plastic easter eggs... but the neighbors gave me an easter present. My very own slide!! I've almost mastered it... I just can't seem to get from the ladder to the right way down the slide. One time I went head first by accident.

After a while on the slide, I went back to finding eggs. I got all dozen eggs (much to Daddy's surprise)!
