Baby brother - the arrival

I got to meet my baby brother today! I gave him lots of kisses.

Last night Mommy and Daddy went to the hospital while I was sleeping and voila this morning here he is. (The voila translates to 9 hours of labor, but compared to my 36 hours... 9 h is really great!)

Stats:
born 27th June 2010 at 0650
6 lbs 14 oz
19.75"

I had lunch with Mommy and then baby brother ate his lunch after we were done. Everyone is very hungry and sleepy, but also very healthy.

Pictures and the revelation of 'the name' will follow.

New Friend at Daddy's Soccer Game

We went to Daddy's soccer game on Sunday. I met a new friend, Sarie. We had met about a year earlier but she was just a baby then.

Now we can have lots of fun together. We shared snacks and toys. We also read a book about Belly Buttons then checked out each other's belly buttons.

Then we played hide and seek.

At the end of the game, my friend had to leave though. Maybe we'll get to play again soon. :-)

G'ma and G'pa: Gardens

Mommy and I took G'ma and G'pa to one of our favorite spots - the Brookside Gardens. It was hot but lots of fun.

G'ma and G'pa

G'ma and G'pa came to visit. We've been having lots of fun...
playing catch

trying on G'pa's shoes...

going to "spider" park...

trying new girlie things that Daddy HATES!...

and making my first paintings.

Today we went downtown on the Choo Choo train and saw some more paintings in the museums. I ended up liking the sculptures best... especially the deer and the snakes.

Front yard fun

Dirt, dirt and more dirt. We had lots of fun playing (working) in the front yard this weekend. We went to the nursery to find some plants.

The new plants looked pretty small in all the mulch we moved.

Mulch is fun to dig in... and throw...

And to generally get dirty.

When its hot outside (94 degrees plus humidity!) and you're dirty... there's nothing like a crazy sprinkler to finish off some outdoor fun.

Father's Day

Happy Father's Day to all of you dads out there!

Baby brother was 'due' on Father's Day, but apparently he is being stubborn and doesn't want to come out to play yet. We're still waiting... not so patiently.

I got to play a lot this weekend. I'll see if I can coerce Mommy to move a bit and get some pictures up of me, Daddy, Grandpa, and Grandma working/playing in the front yard. We moved A LOT of dirt this weekend... which makes for a dirty ME! :-)

Memorial Day Weekend

Memorial day weekend was a long weekend of projects... not so much fun for me, but we got a lot done! Mommy & Daddy framed their closet wall and put up the drywall. I helped by giving Daddy all the screws. I left a few surprise screws in the bed for fun.

I did have fun playing outside while we did yard work. Daddy transplanted an azalea and planted two big big hydrangeas - I helped dig the holes. I did a better job than Daddy because I didn't break my shovel -- trip #3 to Home Depot was to get a new shovel.

Trip #1 & #2 were mostly to get parts for the toilet downstairs. Last weekend I helped Daddy fix the toilet. I got to use the wrench and found out what a wing nut is... and I now know that the wing part should NOT go into the rubber gasket. Apparently whoever 'fixed' the toilet last, didn't know that. This weekend we were trying to fix the toilet connector to the wall. 3 trips to Home Depot and 2 trips to Ace Hardware later and Daddy successfully fixed it!! It was a good thing too... because otherwise we wouldn't have any water.

I also helped to put together Baby Brother's room. I chose the spot where the rocker should go. I said it was okay to share that with baby brother. I got a fun foamy futon to play with instead, so I'm good. I also brought in some of baby brother's new clothes from Auntie Lindsay. THANKS! I must admit that I was disappointed that it wasn't a present for me... but there were some very cute things, so I'll forgive you. :-) Baby brother has a whole new wardrobe now! And we even got a new piece of furniture from IKEA to put all the clothes in.

It was an exhausting weekend. Luckily, I got to kick of the new week playing in the pool at daycare! Yeah for summer!!

Baby Brother

I'm starting to get excited about baby brother. I love going to the doctor's office. I get to help with the tape measure to see how big he is. I also get to push the buttons so we can hear him 'talk' to us. He always says hi to me! We all got to go to the doctor's yesterday. The doctor said that baby brother will come out to play soon. Only a couple more weeks now (due date 20th June).

We went to Babies R Us last weekend and I got to scan lots of things for baby brother and a few things for me too -- like the cookie monster towel and some sippy cups. So if you feel like getting something, and don't know what, you can hop on the web and check out baby brother's registry... and don't forget about me too. I like presents.

Eastern Shore - Assateague Island

Leave it to me to go to the beach and find pine cones. Leave it to Mommy to have a camera with no batteries when we go to see the wild horsies on Assateague Island. So all of the cool things that we saw on the north side of the island weren't captured 'on film'. Like me petting a horseshoe crab and conchs, the first herd of horses we saw ... after the thunderstorm passed by. Luckily, she did remember to bring the battery charger, so we have pictures of the south side of the island - including my pine cone.

I found the pine cone on our walk to see the lighthouse. It was TALL!!

Daddy and I went up (read Daddy carried me up) over 200 steps to the top of the lighthouse. I refused to go outside though... it was too windy! The lady at the top gave me a sticker.

Finally we got to see more horsies. Much more interesting than lighthouses. We spotted the horsies out on the marsh and then came right up to our car!

Some were white, some were brown, some were mixed.

One even posed with the lighthouse in the distance... just for G'pa Kenny.

My favorite horsey was the baby horse. The rangers said he was only about a week old!!

After a while too many other people crowded our horsies. There was a pretty good traffic jam. So we headed of to take a walk around a different marsh. No horsies but lots of birds.

Including a family of geese with 3 goslings. (Just like in my Gossie book! Well minus the red boots.) Can you spot them in the picture?

It was a fun long weekend - pool, beach, horsies, birdies and a lighthouse - what more could a girl want?
