1 month old

Baby brother is now 1 whole month (and a day) old.

We went to the doctor's office this morning. I showed her my stethoscope and she checked out baby brother.

He's grown a lot. He weighs 9 lbs 11 oz and is 21.5" tall.

Big Storm

Yesterday there was a big big storm. It was very short but a little scary. Mommy, baby brother and I went downstairs to watch Finding Nemo because the tree was swinging back and forth a lot... and moving the fence. As we were heading down stairs, it fell down.





Luckily it fell down in the once place that caused the least damage... the middle of the neighbor's yard. No one was hurt and no structures were damaged. whew. After about 10 min the storm and winds died down... but it was a little scary.

Bathtime

I decided that I like bathtime ... a lot! Daddy and I have contests on who can squirt the sea creatures further.

Baby brother decided that he wanted to get in on the action too. He had his first bath this weekend. At first he didn't like it but then decided to calm down and enjoy it.

Hawaiian Rhian

Mommy's friend Auntie Rhian was in town for work and took a couple of days off to hang out with us.

Unfortunately, Mommy has problems remembering her camera and to make sure its charged... so we don't have any pix with Rhian... at least none in focus. We went to Wheaton Regional Park and I got to go on the carousel, once with Mommy and once with Rhian. We were going FAST! Too fast for the camera.



We do have some pictures that Rhian took of all the many of the fun things we did downtown. We had a super all American picnic on the lawn at the mall - hot dogs and french fries with protest songs playing the background.



Then we went to the air and space museum. Mommy, Daddy and Rhian all loved a photography exhibit... I mostly loved playing hide and seek.



The rocket ships were pretty cool too.



We had so much fun! I can't wait to go visit you in Maine!

One of the great things about having a baby brother is that I have another subject to practice my photography. Here are some of my recent portraits.

1st Hair Cut

Its been 2.5 years and Mommy finally gave into Daddy's requests for a hair cut. She didn't agree to the full request though - a buzz cut.

After 2.5 years my hair was almost half way down my back.



Now it only goes to my shoulders. I did a great job holding still and moving my head where she told me... I'm holding my chin down here.



I did such a good job, I got a lollipop! Yummy. (Now I keep asking to get another haircut so I can get another lollipop.)

Hungry Hungry Hippo #2

We all know I love to eat (especially fruit), but Davin may be taking over the champion eater title. When we left the hospital (6/29), he weighed in at 6 lbs 6 oz. At today's 1-week weight check, he weighed in a massive 13 oz gain at 7 lbs 3 oz!! For those of you mathy, stats people, that's an average gain of 1.65 oz per day and a 13% increase in body weight over a week!

I think its funny that us kids want to put on weight - its healthy and good. All the grown ups seem to shutter at the thought of an extra 13% of their weight. They all seem to want to LOSE weight!

Happy Birthday America

Its been a busy holiday weekend. Auntie Julie visited us for dinner and gave me a book called 'The Story of America's Birthday'. I learned all about the colonialists and the 4th of July. Jules also got to be the first of Mommy's friends to meet baby brother.



We also braved the heat to go to the botanical gardens in Wheaton Regional Park/Brookside Gardens. Grandma and I played the drums. Logs, sticks and seashells make great sounds!



Going to the gardens on the 4th of July seems to be a tradition. We went last year too...

Same log but now I'm a big girl and a big sister!


I spent some good quality time with Davin playing in the jungle gym.



You can never give or get too many kisses.



The best part about America's birthday was the FIREWORKS show!! Kensington puts on a show within walking distance of our house. We all walked over early for the 'entertainment'. There was some band playing but the cool part were the balloon animal people! I got my first balloon animal - a teddy bear!



Teddy Bear was a "little scared" when the fireworks started. There were lots of loud booms! I gave him hugs to calm him down and Daddy gave me hugs to keep us both safe. Then I could just enjoy the pretty fireworks! Baby brother slept (and ate) on Mommy's lap through the entire show!!

New Blog Name Needed

I will continue to narrate but the blog will now be about me AND my baby brother, Davin. I like to share with him (sometimes Mommy & Daddy says too much... why is sharing grapes with baby brother bad?) We need a new name for the blog though. Please submit your suggestions!!
