Yo yo skills

I've been working on lots of new skills.  I especially LOVE tracing letters, numbers and well... anything.  I've also been busy building towers.

My newest skill is drawing happy faces.

My first drawing of our family.  Baby brother is on the bottom.  Daddy is on the right, and I'm on top.

Baby Davin is also working on new skills.  He's much better at grabbing toys (and hair).

And is starting to slowly crawl... backwards... with some turns.  We tried to shoot a video but he moves REALLY SLOW... so here's his movement in pictures.

Kitty or baby?

Baby brother loves to grab clothes, blankets, ribbons, etc that are dangled over his head.  He squeeks and smiles.

Early Christmas

We celebrated Halloween a little early and every store seems ready for Christmas, so why not us?

Baby Davin got a Xmas present early.

His getting better and better at playing with everything... and there's a lot to play with!

For my early Xmas, I got to meet Santa!   I was a little (lot) shy.  He kept asking me what I want for Xmas, but I didn't tell him.

something new

Mommy and Daddy were very cranky today because Davin didn't sleep well (AT ALL) last night.  Daddy finally figured out why when he got hurt... and it makes lots of sense based on the extra drool and eating this week.  Davin got his FIRST TOOTH!  I didn't get my first tooth until I was 8 months old so we didn't even think to look until Daddy yelled ouch, that was sharp.  Mommy isn't really excited about this early milestone.

Playing

Zoo

Oh how I love the zoo.  Saturday was a particularly good zoo trip!  Mommy got LOTS of great pictures and the animals were very active.  An orangutan scared me because he was playing peek-a-boo with me... but I didn't know it! He just kept jumping up at me, and I kept screaming... then smiling.  The elephants were more calm... they just showed off their booties.

The pandas were very active and like many other animals came down to say hi to me.

 Bye bye panda.

Mommy and Baby Davin hung out outside of the red panda exhibit.  It was international red panda day.

And he was looking especially cute hanging out in the tree (after having a little snack).

The pandas were so cute, we had to cuddle with them.

People were stopping behind Mommy to watch us take these pictures.  We're not the zoo animals!!

Excited about horses!

After the panda, I decided that I needed to climb on every statue I could find.  Who wouldn't want to climb on a giant anteater?
This was also a giant!  The sea urchins at Mommy's lab aren't this big!!  Though I get to hold the ones in her lab.
I learned that the zebras were white with black stripes.  The lady said she knew it was that way because they have white bellies.

Pretty kitty.

The sloth bear also liked me a whole lot.  He kept walking away and then coming back to say hi and then turning away again.  He was silly and did it over and over and over again.

I couldn't touch the big cats (below) but they did have the fur of a cloud leopard which was very soft.

One of the tigers was on the prowl.  He stopped and played in the leaves and then ROARRRRED!!

The big daddy lion RRROOOOARED back even LOUDER!

Mommy and Baby Davin checking out the barn.  Late in the day the farm animals went inside to keep warm.  It was a beautiful day.. but it got a little cold in the shade.  It was cold enough and a long day so we headed home... with a long nap in the car for both me and Davin.

Dinnertime Antics - Stand Up Straight

Mommy and I watched as Daddy and Grandma Aileen try to teach Baby Davin to stand up (and walk).

Daddy has been helping Baby Davin... but only with a finger tip.  I'm not sure if this is for Davin's benefit or Daddy's amusement.

I'm a good big sister and helped Davin too!  He'll be walking soon!

Grubby Grub

Davin has been watching us eat dinner each night with increasing intensity.  So Mommy and Daddy decided to ignore the doctor (who suggested waiting another month) last night and try out some real food.  Baby Davin is an eating machine... he put away 1/4 of a mashed up turnip, part of a carrot, and then some rice cereal.  I'm pretty sure we were supposed to start with the rice cereal (and stop there), but he seemed to like the turnip much better.   Since we were already ignoring the doctor, this morning Davin also tried some pear with his rice cereal.

Grandma Aileen

Grandma Aileen is visiting this weekend.  I love it when she visits - she always brings presents and reads me books.

She also seemed to have a way with Davin... beautiful sleeping baby...

I can't wait to see what we do this weekend!!  I'm sure something fun.
