White Xmas (Eve)

Really all Mommy wanted for Christmas was snow.  She got her wish a little early (on Xmas eve) and it was short lived... but there was SNOW!

I took pictures of it.

Davin tried to look at close up.

And Daddy taught us how to eat the falling snow.

There were some casualties (snow in the eye), but it was a great Christmas present.

We opened a couple more presents that evening in the Poehls family tradition and then the rest the next morning. We got some great stuff - THANKS!! But nothing made Mommy happier than the snow.
SLAM DUNK!!
 Digging in Christmas morning.

 The wrapping paper carnage.
I was super excited about the dress, but not about having to take a present break to take a picture.

I hope you and yours had a wonderful holiday season.

Winterland Prep

To get in the holiday spirit we did our now traditional December activities - lights at the Temple, lights in Brookside Gardens, decorating the tree, and collecting boxes.

I got to put the star on the tree this year, but we all helped decorate.  Davin was much better at putting the ornaments on this year compared to last year.

Lots of boxes from our wonderful relatives also decorated the (under) tree.  One day we came home to a tower of boxes taller than us!!  Awesome!

The Temple had 100,000 MORE lights this year than last year, for a total of 600,000 lights!  And they were beautiful.

After we saw the lights, we went inside the visitor's center to see nativity scenes from around the world and, for the first time, went to one of the free concerts. Even though it was after bedtime, Davin and I sat mesmerized listening to two girls play violin - Bach, Beethoven, and, of course, Tchaikovsky. I recognized most of the songs from The Little Einsteins, but it was Davin who really loved the music.  He was shhhing me!

We went to Brookside Gardens which was fabulous as always, especially with a cup of hot chocolate and a Thomas the Train display.  Mommy brought her camera but the SD card was still in the computer from the last time she downloaded pictures for the blog.  Silly Mama... no pictures of our last year at Brookside. :-(

And right before Christmas, to make sure we ready and being good, Santa and Mrs Claus borrowed a firetruck and came by to say hi. One of their elves gave us candy canes! I love the holidays!!

I hope Santa will visit us in NJ next year. Any suggestions for great lights in NY/NJ??

Birthday Party

Mommy made me wait a couple of weeks after my actual birthday but I FINALLY got my princess birthday party.

First we had to make the necessary gear for a royal party -- swords, shields and CROWNS.

Crown making factory in full swing.
 A knight in the making.

Next we needed a castle to rule.

Some of the younger royals decided to tackle a smaller castle.

It was time to reap the spoils and have treats... self-decorated treats.  Sprinkles were every where!

And for additional spoils, we trounced an enemy's castle and pillaged all of the goodies inside.

Fun was had by all.  I can't wait until I turn 6!!

Falling... Jumping

It is fall... or at least it was last month. Its trying very hard to be winter now.
We had fun playing in the leaves.

.

We found a pumpkin spider in the leaves!!  It was Davin's favorite color... I don't think it knows that it missed Halloween already.

Mommy got in on the fun too!
