Holding Hands...
I've discovered my hands!! I like to stare at them and go cross-eyed. And I especially like to eat them!!
What can I say? It makes me happy.
I also like to hold my own hand (while eating it.)
But with new skill comes new responsibilities. While I like watching Daddy cook... I'm not sure I like to help him cook. Stirring carrots is hard work!
And laundry is just no fun.
I'm also sad cuz I don't really fit into my teddy bear outfit anymore. I really liked that one. :-(

Iced In
Today everyone stayed home! Daddy is sick so he's in bed. Mommy and I played instead. I practiced holding my head up so I could see all of my fun toys.
Its fun to play with Mommy. Too bad she has to brave the ice and go to work soon. boo! But she said she's going to bring me home a present. I wonder what it will be?!? :-)

Be Mine
Tuesday, February 12, 2008
What we've figured out so far... I've got Mommy's nose, eyes and eyebrows. I've got Daddy's ears. I definitely have Daddy's hair - look at the hair line. (Daddy is so comfy to sit on. I'm learning all about the EPL - thats the English Premier League.)
And when my hair gets wet it gets all curly, just like Daddy's.
I also like watching string and things hanging that I can bat at... just like Daddy. (I love my IKEA fishies.) Though I'm not quite coordinated enough to hit them, except by accident. I'm good at smacking Mommy and Daddy in the face though. :-)
We all know that D is for Dahlia... not Dinos like my romper says. Silly romper.

2 months
I'm now officially 2 months old, though Mom and Dad have been saying that for at least a week now. And since I'm 2 months, I had my 2 month check up. I officially weighed in at 11 lbs 4 oz and was 22 1/4" tall. I guess the old wives tale that 11 lbs in the magical number for sleeping through most of the night (~6 hours) is right.
Then the bad part of the doctor's visit came... my first shots. I didn't like them very much. I got two shots in one of my chubby little legs and one in the other. Mommy had to come pick me up early from daycare because my legs hurt too much. The pain slowly went away and I've been sleeping it off since yesterday evening. Luckily, I didn't get a bad fever (yet).

New Toy
I got a new toy this weekend. Ms Shelby told Mom & Dad that I like looking at things above me. I like my Ikea fish mobile, but I think Mom and Dad are getting tired of spinning it for me. So they got me a new toy. Yeah! My new play mat has lights and sounds and rainforest animals. We thought the butterflies would spin, but then don't. Boo. I still like it though. This video clip shows me talking to my new friends. Let Mommy know if you can't make it work. Adding video is new for us.
