Ring around the island

We took a mini-driving tour of the island to check things out and find lighthouses for G'pa.
Diamond Head lighthouse was our first stop.

Next stop was Daddy's old house in Hawai'i Kai. I think Grandpa Jim likes brown houses on steep slopes with nice views.  There's definitely a theme.

Then to Makapu'u lighthouse. We skipped the hike and just drove around to a cute little beach to see the lighthouse. Mommy was a bit sad, since she liked to watch whales from the Makapu'u point. It was for the best though. Davin and I passed out shortly there after for the 'long' drive to the North Shore.

Finally we made it to the house. It was worth the drive.  Great location and beautiful view.
View from the lanai

Watching the surfers on the nice break in front of the house. Wide sandy beach steps away on the other side.

WOW!!! What a special trip -- lighthouses, spectacular views and a house on the North Shore. Now that's really cool!!!

The warm rains kept us from hiking in the hills, but didn't keep us off the beaches. Turtles, sand, shaved ice, and getting drenched by the waves... great trip. Thanks for inviting us along!

Thank you for the neat colorful worksheets on n and w. Did Dav color the warthog and wheelbarrow?
