Fourth of July sizzle - fireworks

Since our fireworks were cancelled we headed over to Takoma Park... along with a lot of other people. The small festival turned huge (with so many other firework displays in the area cancelled). Again though... what is the 4th of July in the nation's capitol WITHOUT fireworks!?!?

So a long trek and numerous stops for directions later, we made it. The sno-cones made the trip in the (oppressive humidity &) heat much better!

It was crowded!

But we definitely enjoyed the nearly half an hour of fireworks lighting up the sky.

What could be better than fireworks, flags and family on the fourth? More family - thanks for making the trek with us Grandma... wouldn't have been as much fun without you.

Maybe next year you'll convince your Mama & Daddy to go to the fireworks at the National Mall. It's just a longer train ride to get there.
I'm glad the fireworks at my house can be seen without a long walk in the heat.

Better to see some fireworks than none at all. As long as you enjoyed it, it is always worthwhile.
